University of Transport Technology is a public university, directly under the Ministry of Transport, formerly known as the College of Public Works, opened on November 15, 1945. Greatly contributing to the development of the country, the university was awarded the title of Hero of Labor in the reform period by the State; 02 First Class Independence Medals, 02 First Class Labor Medals, 01 Second Class Freedom Medal awarded by the State of Laos and many other noble medals. On November 29, 1961, the university was honored to welcome President Ho Chi Minh for excellent achievements throughout the North.
The university has 03 campuses in Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen with a total land area of 23.5 hectares. Lecture hall consists of 300 classrooms, 109 laboratories, 1 expressway testing center, 02 workshops for practicing construction technology and mechanics. The dormitory can accommodate 2,000 boarding students. The university has a library of 4,000 m2 holding a collection of more than 20,000 books, a spacious canteen of 500 seats, modern stadiums and facilities for organizing extracurricular activities
Mission
University of Transport Technology has the mission of training and providing high-quality human resources in the direction of application, multi-discipline, multi-field, scientific research and technology transfer for the transport sector and the country, in accordance with international development trends, integrating with advanced higher education in the region and the world.
Vision
By 2045, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the University’s founding, the university’s vision is to be a smart university, a center for scientific research, technology transfer and international cooperation in the field of Transportation
Scientific research, innovation and international cooperation
From 2018 to present, the university has conducted 02 national level projects; 07 projects under the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED); 60 ministerial-level projects; 1 provincial-level project; 133 university level projects; achieved 01 patent and 03 seful solutions; composed 17 Vietnam standards, published 685 articles in prestigious international scientific journals (ISI, Scopus). The university has signed cooperation agreements with 50 foreign partners, implemented 10 collaborative research projects with the United Nations Environmental Program, the European Commission, Germany, Japan, India, the US, France… ; deployed 03 international training joint programs with Poland, Korea, and France.
